And by day four I was only putting on clothes when I had to leave the house to get groceries, run errands or visit the bars. Which meant day two - having coffee in just shorts and flip flops. Each day after I got a little more relaxed and acclimated to my new desert way of life. The first day I got up, showered and dressed for the day before my coffee. My first couple days in town I got use to getting up in the morning and making my coffee and then sitting out on the back patio to watch the sun come up.

I was all set to spend my days and evenings lounging naked in and around the pool to work on my tan. It was a huge, beautiful ( crazy expensive ) new modern home with a well-stocked wine fridge and a GIANT pool in the very private backyard. A good buddy of mine had loaned me his house since he would be out of town for a month.

I had just turned 33 and found myself on a solo escape to Palm Springs. I also find that the bars are open all the time so you can always duck into a bar to enjoy some nice cold A/C and beer. However, I don’t really mind because I like avoiding the big crowds. With the summer temps reaching well over 100, it can be unbearable.
